Gina Strumpf - Oil Paintings

As a child Gina was always drawing. She studied water color illustration with Josette Gourley and won numerous awards in school as well as being selected to spend a summer at the North Carolina School of Art in Winston Salem, NC. She was also awarded a full art scholarship to Traphagan School of Fashion in New York City.
Her art education includes water color studies and oil with national artists including Rebecca Schwieger and Andy Braitman along with workshop studies in Southern France and Tuscany. She is a memeber of the Charlotte Art League.
Gina's paintings have been shown in a One Woman show at the Artist Gallery, a juried regional show and On December 8, 2006 her oil paintings opened at the RedSky Gallery in Dilworth, Charlotte, NC
While the familiar forms of her landscapes, street scenes and still life's reflect that which we see in nature she chooses vibrant hues and colors that bring out the excitement of their natural beauty. Gina's gift for color is inspired from her passion for gardening and her love of the out doors. Her recent paintings reflect her travels through Europe and reveal her fascination for the counrty side of France and Tuscany.
